NEW JERSEY ARTS INCUBATOR KICKS OFF 2013 SUMMER SEASON AT THE OSKAR SCHINDLER PERFORMING ARTS CENTER WITH A SUMMER SOLSTICE CELEBRATION JUNE 21ST

West Orange, New Jersey, May 28, 2013 – NJAI’s inaugural event up at the beautiful OSPAC amphitheater in West Orange, NJ will be a Summer Solstice Celebration on June 21st (rain date June 22nd).

The Summer Solstice Celebration is a gathering of regional performers and artists presenting world music, dance, drumming, arts and crafts for children and more. Food and craft vendors as well as healing practitioners will be on site at the OSPAC amphitheater set on five beautiful acres next to Crystal Lake in West Orange. This event is FREE to the public with a donation of non-perishable, unexpired food goods that will be collected for the Holy Trinity – West Orange Food Pantry.

As the sun reaches its highest peak of midsummer and then sets in glorious splendor from the ridge of the first Watchung Mountain guests will join in a series of sun salutations and be treated to performances by special guests including the Montclair based 13 HANDS aka DALIEN, a Grammy nominated singer/songwriter, world musician, shamanic and kirtankar (one who leads Kirtan, a call and response chanting practice based in India). Other performers include Mark Woods, a regionally renowned teaching circle drummer and world music musician, Celtic harpist Odarka, The Center for Spiritual Living of North Jersey’s One Voice choir, spoken word artists and much more.

Bring blankets and lawn chairs and a drum, rattle or shaker for the powerful and inspiring show finale! Instruments for children will be available for purchase.

The Summer Solstice Celebration is produced by NJAI and co-sponsored by the town of West Orange, Center for Spiritual Living North Jersey and Inner Realm Magazine.

**SAVE THE DATE** – Summer Solstice On The Mountain – The event of midsummer when the sun attains its highest point in the sky is celebrated by countries and cultures around the world and the ancient pagan solstice traditions are still celebrated by spiritual disciplines around the globe today. Performers and presenters at Summer Solstice on the Mountain will share the power and spirit of multi-cultural rituals, music, dance, chanting, yoga and celebration with audience members/participants in the ‘free to the public’ event.
