The NJAI Theater will be a performing arts venue that serves the northern New Jersey region with an emphasis on developing works of theater, literature, music and the performing arts.

The NJAI Theater will present and produce product under the direction of the NJAI Artistic Director. Presenting product will include work created by artists and students of the NJAI Arts and Business Centers and educational programs. Presenting organizations will include a cadre of resident professional companies in a number of disciplines, visiting performing artists and arts organizations, guest artist series, speakers and educational programming.

The mission of the NJAI Theater is to develop and present New Jersey performing arts product that may be transferred to venues and arts facilities across the state in an effort to promote, sustain and retain the NJ artist in the state of New Jersey; to provide the immediate community and northern New Jersey regional audience with an easily accessible, affordable, professional quality, performing arts experience; to provide NJ audiences the opportunity to experience work in process and participate in its development; to provide NJ artists and arts organizations an affordable presentation venue to further the development of their craft.

The NJAI Arts Center places a special emphasis on non- profit and low & moderate income performers by providing grant opportunities to qualified applicants for rental and use of the NJAI Theater.
