This July, the place to be is the Oskar Schindler Performing Arts Center. We kick off the summer of 2014 with an unbeatable July 4th weekend for fans of great food and music - all served outdoors.
The fun begins July 1st, when Ethiopian-Israeli Soul Songstress Ester Rada comes to OSPAC direct from the Montreal Jazz Festival.
The night of July 4th, we present the Wallace Roney Orchestra playing the music that Wayne Shorter wrote for Miles Davis. The music was lost for a half century and only recently found. Come and experience the festival debut of the Wallace Roney orchestra playing "Universe" - the music of Wayne Shorter.
July 5, Pianist Taka Kigawa comes to play. There is a reason why he is a darling of the downtown scene, and he warms things up for July 6th, when we explore the Soul of Cuban Piano with Manuel Valera, Aruan Ortiz and Chuchito Valdes. It's a stunning double feature on July 11th when pianists Joel Fan and Frank Kimbrough come together for a night of virtuosic performance of classical and jazz. July 12, Vadim Neselovskyi brings his earth-shattering style to the OSPAC stage, followed on July 18th by Cliburn Winner Fei-Fei Dong, the Lionel Loueke Trio on July 19th, John Beasley and his trio on July 26th and we conclude our month of incredible music with Cliburn Winner Sean Chen.
