OSPAC expands its horizons, embraces varied music genres

WEST ORANGE, NJ — The Oskar Schindler Performing Arts Center’s 2015 season promises to be unlike any previous year, with a lineup that includes three music festivals celebrating a diverse range of genres.

The outdoor venue’s first ever Latin Night debuts Aug. 1, featuring a free concert by salsa dura band Johnny Mambo and Friends, as well as authentic Hispanic food. Aug. 8 will see the premiere of the free Househead Summerfest, an event paying tribute to ’80s and ’90s house music, complete with performances by legendary genre artists Kenny Bobien and Vicky Martin. And the season will culminate in the 12th annual Jazz and Brew Fest on Sept. 19, a West Orange tradition offering an afternoon’s worth of jazz performances, local vendors and an extensive beer and wine garden.
