Anyone wishing to perform music, comedy, poetry, dance or any other performing art is encouraged to participate by signing up at 7pm on the night of the show. Every effort will be made to give all a chance to perform. Featured artist Mara Levine will perform at 9pm. Open mic will resume after her set.
Si Kahn, Singer/Songwriter, Activist and Author of “Wild Rose of the Mountain” raved of Mara’s cd, “Jewelry maker Mara Levine has titled her new album Mara’s Gems. But the true gem on this debut CD is Mara herself, with her crystal clear voice, subtle vibrato, and skillful way with a melody line. The songs, strung together like the care-worn precious stones on your grandmother’s necklace, are (as a wine critic might say) rich with notes of sterling silver, amethyst, mother of pearl and smoky quartz, with a smooth, sweet finish. Like Mara’s jeweled creations, this is music lovingly crafted, and made to be worn on any occasion.”

Anyone wishing to perform music, comedy, poetry, dance or any other performing art is encouraged to participate by signing up at 7pm on the night of the show. Every effort will be made to give all a chance to perform. Featured artist Ken Galipeau will perform at 9pm. Open mic will resume after his set.
The stories and songs in Ken’s eclectic repertoire celebrate the wonder, absurdity, pain and joy of life, imagination, and the soul. He presents them with energy, enthusiasm, and a sincerity that makes you tingle through and through–the feeling you have after a belly laugh or a chill in the bones from a unsettling ghost story. Ken’s stories and songs are drawn from contemporary and traditional sources and sung as if they were his own. Ken has been the featured teller at the Heritage Trail Storytelling Festival, New Jersey Storytelling Festival, and nationwide Tellabration events. He has told and sung in schools, libraries, public and private gatherings, parties, churches, coffeehouses, festivals and on cable television.

Anyone wishing to perform music, comedy, poetry, dance or any other performing art is encouraged to participate by signing up at 7pm on the night of the show. Every effort will be made to give all a chance to perform. Featured artists Circle Round The Sun will perform at 9pm. Open mic will resume after their set.
Circle Round the Sun is the folk/acoustic group of Marie Trontell, Jay Wilensky, and Chris Bukata. Jay’s warm baritone and Marie’s rich alto, complemented by Chris’ sizzling lead guitar, let the group perform an eclectic mix of great acoustic songs with a special emphasis on duets and sensuous harmonies. They do both original tunes and covers. Their influences include great singer-songwriters like Dave Carter, Michael Smith, Cheryl Wheeler, and Tom Rush. Jay and Marie met as members of New Jersey’s Folk Project and formed Circle Round the Sun. After meeting Chris at a jam session, they were awed by his charm and guitar chops and invited him to join the group. Together, they bring sweet harmonies to great songs. Over the last six years, Circle Round the Sun has performed in venues as diverse as radio, concerts, festivals, benefits, and coffee houses.
